Private Excursion. Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site inscription: 1994, and no wonder. Such beauty and peace sailing on the Bay and visiting the caves. Delightful day.

Weather not the best, but had a good time nonetheless. Took afternoon cruise to the Bay (with lunch) (you notice a recurring theme here?), visitingthe caves. Magnificent.

Dumped by HAL at the pier near Wyndham Legend Halong Hotel. No real facilities apart from touts. Not near city. Bay and islands well worth a tour. Cruises less than 1/2 price of HAL.

A 2 hour boat ride around the islands was an hour too long. The excursion included a visit to the caves inside one island and involved climbing hundreds of stairs. I would not recommend for those less mobile passengers.
