The rating is not for the port. We did not spend time here- Instead, We did an overland to Thanda Private Game Preserve from here. Spend the extra $ and go there. Beautiful accomodations, food. Early morning (5:00 am) and late afternoon safaris with outstanding guides!!!

Some nice areas but downtown is scary and poor. Nicer areas are probably the suburbs. They probably have some nice safari options close by

We were told that the Tourist Authority cautioned tourists not to walk around because it was too dangerous. We took a bus tour and were impressed with the size and the nice neighborhoods. It seemed much more of a major city than Capetown.
