Pier too long and no bicycle taxis for disabled people. Reasonably priced shops, too hot. Did not do excursion.

Save your shopping for the duty free store. Progreso seems like a very poor country. Choose an excursion that has a hands on activity. The touring of the town is not that enjoyable.

Our trip/excursion to Merida was great! We ate at a local Mayan food restaurant, the Jaranda; food was very authentic with hand-made corn tortillas; we will visit again; the local people were very friendly, Merida is very historical and yet contemporary with many US companies setting base there (Sam's, Costco, etc.).
