Progreso was a decent enough place. The choices of excursions weren't really what I was expecting. The shopping center is awesome though. So much alcohol ;)

Did a beach break. It was fun and we felt safe enough. Sales people are VERY pushy. The tour guide, Mario, was awesome! He had many fun facts and was helpful and informative.

This port doesn’t have much to offer unless you book an excursion to the ruins. We did get off the ship and shop around for about an hour before getting back in the ship. I noticed that a lot of people didn’t get off the ship at this port. It was a nice place and the locals were friendly, but not much to do besides shop.

Not a fan of this port. Always waiting on someone or thing. Resort we went to was beautiful and food buffet wss very good. To many islanders asking for tips. .

This port wasn’t too clean and the people selling stuff were really pushy. They seemed like they were desperate to make some money. We didn’t stay downtown but a few minutes. Then we got back on the bus and went back to the ship. We didn’t do an excursion.

We had heard some warnings about getting off in Progresso so we just took an easy day. We took just enough time to go through the 2 dozen or so shops just off the pier. The pier seemed like it is in an iindustrial area so that kind of played a role in our decision, too.

This was our second time here. The first time we had to practically run through the shopping area to get on our bus for the Dzibilchaltun Ruins. They were very interesting. Loved the swim hole that has those little fish that give you a pedicure. There was an authentic Mayan meal that was delicious and a tour of Merida. This time we just shopped, did not take long because it's a pretty small port. Then we headed back to the ship to enjoy it while it was fairly empty.

We felt a little uneasy in town at times. Didn't feel like we were in a very safe part of town until we got to the beach and even then only slightly safer
