Dzibilchaltun Mayan,Merida Tour with lunch. It was great. The lunch was great. Not a whole lot right off ship compared to Cozumel but authentic place to visit. Got to see how Mexico really is for some people. Take a tour. You’ll love it and appreciate what you have more.

We did the Jaguar Safari Tour and had an absolute blast!!! Jose’, our amazing guide, was humorous and informative. We got caught in a tropical storm (it can happen, we were there in mid-October), but it actually added to the thrill. Jose and his staff made sure we were all safe, grilled delicious chicken fajitas, then we sang karaoke and told jokes on the bus. It was an experience of a lifetime and gave us awesome memories!

Progresso is up and coming still. Don't spend a bunch of money on the activities here. We got twenty dollar, hour long, massages on the beach. That was a definite highlight of the trip and worth every penny. Then we rented mopeds for 35$ for the day and drove the entire city. Everything can be done safely and it was much cheaper to rent these for the day instead of a taxi.

There are a lot of mixed reviews with this port. It's not Cozumel for sure but still worth exploring. Once you dock there is a really nice shopping area for souvenirs. Make your way to the back and There are buses/shuttles waiting to take you to the end of the pier. I got on an Autoprogreso bus and it was quite ragdey. There were nicer shuttles waiting to take people on excursions I assume. Once you get to the end of the pier and drive thru town you're in real Mexico. The town is poor and looks a bit rough. I didn't always live in the "burbs" so I wasn't so much afraid I just stayed aware of my surroundings. You're dropped off at the shuttle parking lot literally and there's a smaller vendor shopping area. I'll post pictures. There's a free beach 2 blocks the left. You are approached by vendors the minute you leave lot. Just say no thank you and they move on. They are kind, hardworking people trying to live. Just stay aware of your surroundings and you'll be fine. The beach is usually packed with other cruisers so you're in good company.

Did the mayapan ruins and lazy river swim with cenotes thru carnival- it was amazing- probably the highlight of my vacation & my teenagers agree- they absolutely loved this excursion. The guides were gun and informative, the sites were BEAUTIFUL! Lunch that was included with the excursion was delicious! Did a little shopping on our esu back to port.

Highly suggest doing an excursion here! We did the VIP Chichen Itza and Cenote. This was a once in a lifetime experience. Our tour guide Elias was very knowledgeable and our driver Caesar was hilarious with his 90’s music playlist 😂 Overall great time and would do it again!
