Why do so many people dislike progreso? We actually liked it here!! Very authentic not so much touristy like Cozumel! We would go back again!

Progeso was fine. I didn't hate it like many others. We just took the free shuttle over and did the 45 minute city tour with Auto Progreso for $9 per person. Well worth it! The touristy area on the beach is fine. We ate at a traditional Mayan Mexican restaurant on the corner called Eladia's. Great food, inexpensive, great drinks, great service. You won't be sorry.

We didn't have a excursion at this port. We got off the boat to shop at the shops. We found lots of great deals! After getting ripped off at nachi cocum in cozumel. We were grateful to find a little pool bar right by the ship. 1$ double tequila shots. 😜 husband had to help me back to ship. Awesome!

Loved every minute of it. Everyone made me weary of going there. My experience was truly awesome. The people were amazing and real.

We didn't plan an excursion in Progreso and I got a little worried when the bus took us into town to drop us off. But the people were super friendly and got us on a bus tour that was a lot of fun and very informational. The port itself was very nice and we ended up eating a very delicious lunch there.

There is a free beach within walking distance of the free bus stop they drop you off at! No need to pay for excursions here! Very pretty beaches and good food all in one stop

The main reason for this port is to get close enough to see the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. We did the Carnival excursion of Chichen Itza and the Cenote. One of the best days of my life!

Although some people don't like Progreso, we always look forward to going there. It's just a small and sleepy little fishing town that exmplifies simple Mexican/Yucatan living. The people are always friendly and we have made a couple friends there that we enjoy seeing. We like it so much, we are seriously considering purchasing a house there when we retire. We have done the Chichen Itza, Dzibilchaltun, and Uxmal tours and all were breathtaking.

We did an excursion which included ruins, salt ponds, Flamingos and a silcer beach. Please keep in mind this is a fairly new port, it is growing and the people are amazing. Go in with an open mind and you will have a great time. If you are looking for manicured lawns and perfection...this is not a port for you. We had an amazing time and learned alot.

I was a little surprised by the progreso port. It was very industrial. At first I was a little disappointed we didn’t go on an excursion. But when the local bartender is pouring your tequila shot in your mouth straight from the bottle, you can’t help but have a good time. Overall we had a blast at the port pool.
