Progreso (Merida), Mexico Port Reviews

Not the best port if you don’t do your research before you go it’s a bit of a shock . The beaches aren’t as clear as you’d expect . The city is not very modern at all & be warned , it is the only modern city in the area. We found out the area is riddled with epic swimming holes called cenotes . We did a full day cenotes tour through carnival & it was great . I would go back to this port again just to see more cenotes .

We did the Chichen ltza and sink hole and lunch... our tour guide a.c. was very informative

the Mayan ruin tour was amazing to Uxmal. Our tour guides did an amazing job ...bus ride was 1 1/2 hours both ways so take a backpack with water and snacks.

Did the Foodie tasting excursion. Had a wonderful time. Driver and guide were great. Learned a lot about the history and culture of the area. Want to go back.

Not as nice as cozumel but worth getting off the boat.

In Progreso we did an excursion to the Chichen Itza Mayan ruins. It was an amazing experience! It's a long, hot day of traveling and seeing the sights, but definitely worth it.

Awesome to see Merida on a Sunday around Christmas. Square was full of vendors selling all kinds of local goods.

Did Carnival's flamingo excursion, it was amazing! I can't say much about Progreso other than there's some shopping in port.

We had a great time at Me Casa es to Casa (my home is your home) . The owner was very polite and the drinks and the grounds were beautiful. We even learned to make guacamole the correct way.
