No excursions, wanted to be FREE STYLE. Rode the Tour of Progreso, OPEN BUS, for $9.00 each and enjoyed it very much. Vincent was EXCELLENT guide. Lots of fun.

We went to the sacred cavern and snorkel diving adventure in Progresso. The drive was an hour and a half but it was so worth it!!! The caves were beautiful and Claudia was a great leader making sure we all had what we needed and gave us tons of info about the caves and the people of Santa Rosa. The village was beautiful and the people made sure we had everything we needed. This is a must do excursion. I read a lot of bad reviews and almost cancelled but I am so glad we went and didn’t listen to what all the negative people said!!!

We did the Ruins, Flamingos, salt and Silcer beach club excursion. We had a good experience. This port is still fairly new and is growing. You get out of it what you put into it. Be patient with the locals, try to learn from the culture and you will have a good time.

I got off the ship for a couple of hours and did some shopping. I even had lunch in Progresso (nachos and tacos).

I think it was. Not exactly my first choice. I think the people are genuine. Not a big shopper. The people may not have much but they are a proud people. Give it a chance.

The excursions are not worth it. Just ride the shuttle downtown and walk to a restaurant to use Wi-Fi and have a margarita.

We did book an excursion at this port--the cooking class with a local. Sofia picked us up at Autoprogresso and drove us to her home while telling us about the local history and culture. The next few hours were spent in her kitchen learning to to prepare Yucatan specialties like Sikil Pak and Sopa di Lima. This was the absolute best experience of the entire cruise. Its been two weeks since we've come back, and I'm still constantly talking about it. I thoroughly recommend anyone who's considering taking this excursion to do so. You will not be disappointed, and in fact you may find yourself wanting to return.

I personally enjoy progreso. The excursions through carnival are super expensive. We take the bus into town (15 minute ride) went to the free beach and drank there cheaply. Many people will try to sell you things, but leave if you tell them no. Remember that carnival is the only boat that comes there, and it's once a week. They work harder there. Leave your kids at the on board clubs and try it at least once.
