Progresso is a place I would go again, but I think I would book an excursion. We just went to the free beach which isn’t free if you want to sit in a chair or use the bathrooms. Also this place is very busy with people trying to sell you something all the time. If you buy something then they all come over. We had to get in the ocean just to get away. Other than the beach it was fun to walk around. I would go again.

We went to what was the local free beach, they charged us 25 for two lounge chairs and a umbrella, then the locals did not take no for answer, they would get hateful and mouth off about why you wouldn't buy their things. the food at the restaurant was way over priced, it was in Paso had not idea, until we had a 70 bill.

This is a poverty struck area and I kind of wished we stayed on the ship for this port. We ended up doing a snorkeling cave adventure which included a 4 hour bus ride, to and from the Mayan Ruins. We never would have booked this tour, if we knew it would take up 8 hours and we would have to rush back to keep the ship from leaving us.

This is an Old Mexican port, no fancy gift shops. Dangerous, small sidewalks, poles, motorcycles and cars may block your path. Street are NOT level, sidewalks are NOT level. WATCH YOUR STEP. Nearly fell in a local park when all of a sudden this was a short step down we overlooked. Some street crossings have raised walkways for pedestrians where the cars MAY stop, some do not. Cars rule.
