We went to maya pan ruins and got to climb on them and then we swam in a cenote cave and saw stalagmites and pottery and ate authentic Mexican cuisine and we traveled to a hacienda on our bus.

Nice beach up and down the Malicon. Locals will rip you off if you use US$. They used 13.5 pesos to the dollar the real rate was actually 18 pesos to the dollar. Only use Mexican Pesos or credit card.

Wanted an authentic Mexican experience- to be a traveler and not a vacationer/tourist- and that's exactly what I got!! People who say Progreso is dirty/trash just want to be pampered in a resort and not try anything new. Went to the cenotes at Cuzama and had an amazingly magical time! Tour guide even took us through his neighborhood and paid for a kibi snack (Mexican-Lebanese falafel snack) for all three of us! Can't wait to go back. Yes people are trying to sell you things at the port, but it is what it is on that front.

We did Mi Casa Su Casa. That was awesome! A good deal for the cost.

Progresso is still developing so there isn’t much to do at port, you have to travel into town. We went to the Mayan ruins and explored which was fun

We loved our excursion (Mi Casa Es Su Casa) but would not have enjoyed Progreso if we didn't have that to do. The port itself is small, it's a long drive down the pier and the town is not a tourist place. A true Mexican city with tiny streets and a dirty feel to it.

Some of the sales people in the shops were pushy wanting you to buy.
