Progresso was a poor city but we took the Mérida tour and shopping which we enjoyed. Very informative and we got an air conditioned bus and time to shop and have lunch on our own.

Progreso is much more authentic than Cozumel. We took a shuttle to the town where we arrive to natives who were selling their wares in a market. They're obviously poor, and it felt sad to think about the differences in our lives. The beach there was fine - not very different from Galveston, though full of seaweed that looked like pine needles.

I am Mexican and felt really embarrased to show this town to people around the world. It was very dissapointing. I believe the people at Progreso should keep nice and clean the areas where tourists arrive (at least). dindn´t like it at all

WATERS NOT LIKE COZUMEL BUT STILL WAY BETTER THAN TEXAS GULF WATERS. THE BEACH AT YUCALPETEN WAS LOVELY AND MUCH NEEDED. THE TOUR GUIDE BRITTANY WAS AMAZING AND VERY INFORMITATIVE AS WELL AS FRIENDLY. LOVED HER!

Go to Chichen Itza. It's an early start and a long drive but so worth it.

I personally didn’t care for progreso it’s not a place that I would like to go back too. Shopping is very limited there. The People were very friendly

It’s a little sketchy, but we found a beach club to go to.
