would not suggest progreso but we did do an excursion not through the cruise, very inexpensive. Once we got to the port we jus got off the ship and there are several groups doing them. You can also negotiate the price.

I would suggest visiting the ruins. The shopping isn't great, but the ruins are amazing.

Very nasty place with little to do. Did not feel safe here. I have no idea why carnival would use this port.

we skipped progresso and took a trip into Merida- it was not that great, we should have stayed in Progresso

Progreso was okay but not near as nice as Cozumel. The people were great just the water and such were not as nice.

hello would like to know if anyone has done the Silcer Beach club Excursion?.. in progreso and if so how was your experience? Also did you book in advance are did you pay when you got there?

The excursion are awesome, and the beaches are pretty decent. Lots of shells and there are free shuttles from the port to downtown.
