Port is in an industrial zone, so you cannot walk from the ship to the street; when you walk off the ship you must take a tram to the exit point. Plenty of trams available since this ship was half-empty, but if there were actually 4,000 people trying to get off, there surely would've been a line. Salsa & Salsa excursion was VERY fun, especially if you're with a group! The only downside is that there was a LOT of time-wasting chitchat and especially shilling/merchandise selling from the Salsa & Salsa host. It could've been a half hour shorter if we didn't constantly stop to hear her talk about whatever merchandise table or the children's book sales. We all enjoyed it otherwise, though -- it was set up in the lobby of a beachfront hotel, which was odd at first, but it worked out fine. Had about an hour after Salsa & Salsa to either enjoy the hotel pool or walk down to the beach, literally right at the edge of the hotel. The trolley ride from the port to the Salsa hotel location was lovely. I'd like to visit Mazatlan again, especially the boardwalk which was recently redeveloped.

Love Mazatlan. It is growing and looks as safe as it did in the 80's

Very cute port after you pass the freight area. Well laid out and easy to find the blue line. The blue shirt volunteers are great.

Didn't really have a lot for excursions. We left the ship later in the morning and there was only one option for transportation which was $35/pp. Too expensive for not really having any guidance or planned stops, so we went back on the ship. There were no staff around to get any guidance from either.

Since we overdid our day in Puerto Vallarta, we decided to just do some light shopping in the port area. There were a lot of little shops in the area and we purchased a few magnets.

Took a tram to terminal area that offered lots of shopping. Took the Seria Modray country tour and was very enjoyable.

The boys where a bit sea sick this morning so we took the girls off for a little shopping around the port. I know we could have gotten better prices and I think next time we will walk around more but they where still asleep when we got back and I worried a bit when we were separated just cause.

I loved Mazatlan! Great weather, lovely people and so easy to walk around. Just follow the blue line from the port and you'll end up right in the heart of the old city. I had a great lunch here and bought some art.

I did not even get off the ship at Mazatlan. It's unfortunate, but the port itself kept me from getting off the ship as it was incredibly ugly and located in what looked to be a pretty rundown area. It was clearly a shipyard full of shipping containers and the only way to get outside of the port area was to take a tram. I don't think we missed much, although I did lose out on $ I had spent on an excursion I had booked ahead of time.
