This port was great once you got out the main gate. We heard a lot of complaints in regards to the shopping portal the ship drops you at. You are ina tiny gated area and surrounded by taxi drivers that want to charge you a fortune to take you to places you don’t really care to see. We paid one $30 to take us to golden area and he dropped us on a random pier with a bunch of people selling goods on the side of the street. After walking through the large group of people trying to sell their goods on you for “almost free” we kept walking and stumbled upon a wonderful restaurant on the beach and some other great sites. Once we got the taxi to to go back it cost us $3 to get to the other side of the city. The original taxis definitely price gouged for convenience. I would recommend walking out the gates and hailing a taxi a few blocks down the way.

We did the All Inclusive Resort. It was good. The buffet was very good. The beach and the pool areas are not near each other. You have to walk and take a boat ride to get between them. I suggest going to beach first in order to get best selection of lounge chairs, then eat, then go to pool. Go to the second "action" pool area. It has a really cool Cave to explore. The Beach area has a loud obnoxious bingo game in the afternoon. All you hear is "B12, G8..." blaring over the loud speaker if you go to beach in afternoon.

We did the Mazatlan by sea and land excursion. The sea portion was great and loved it. Open bar, great guide and crew. The land portion was completely rushed and just riding around on a bus with only 2 opportunities to get off - one for the cliff divers, which were okay but then they literally ran to harass you for tips even after you already tipped. One dive and then a constant bombardment for money, chasing you until you were on the bus. The other stop was for shopping in the "Golden Zone", which is far from Golden. It was a rundown area of kitschy souvenir shops all selling the same items. We were told the bus and guide would remain in place but when we got back after 20 minutes of walking around, the bus was gone. We were told that our bus had to move so other buses could park in the space. But our guide then left too and we had no way of finding out what was going on. The bus came back late and the rest of the tour was rushed. For the other "stops", the driver got off at the flower market and brought an arrangement onboard to see, and the guide got off at the shrimp market and brought raw shrimp onboard. My husband has a severe shrimp allergy and it was a problem when she walked through the bus with raw shrimp, waving it back and forth and slinging shrimp "juice" around, then touching many surfaces with contaminated hands. They should ask about allergies before introducing items like that to an unknown audience.
