Rented a car. Shuttles to the car rental were better organized at this port. We drove through the canyon which was lovely. Then we went to a beach to snorkel. It was incredible. I can’t remember the name of the beach, but I’ll find it then edit this post. Too short of a day. Need to be in port longer.

Both excursions were great. The canyon and the national gardens are worth seeing. We liked the ability to take a free bus to shops or a short walk.

Waimea Canyon was awsome! It was a bit clouded over but what we could see was like the Grand Canyon only greener and more water falls.

This is a beautiful island. If you want to do a helicopter this is the place to do it. We did the helicopter tour. We saw areas you can only see by air. It was worth every the money. We also did the Grotto Fern tour. It was a river cruise to the fern gully. You are not allowed in the in the cave area so we were entertained on the deck just outside. The tour was ok. The guide tried very hard to improve the tour with the entertainment. They played instruments, sang and dance on the deck and on the return trip on the boat.

Waimea Canyon and the north shore...

We did another snorkeling tour and it was not very good at all. Very rough waters and we were not allowed to hang out on the beach. Almost as though we shouldn’t of been there. After excursion we did some shopping. Had the best non dairy pineapple ice cream ever.

Our excursion was cancelled due to rough water so we went to the beach near the ship. It was a nice beach where you can rent chairs and eat at the restaurant in the Marriott. Also there were a handful of shops near here also.
