Took a glass bottom reef tour that we loved and then took an excursion to Greenwell Farms coffee plantation, which was free and very informative. Included samples!

Really liked Kona. Small beach next to tender dock. Beautiful town...home of Ironman championships. Very cool. Toured historic and cultural sites. Scenery amazing.

Lava java for breakfast. Rent mopeds from Fun in the Sun Rentalz. Get snorkel equipment there too. Head over to Kahalu'u Beach _ark for some great free snorkeling!

We opted for the NCL excursion for snorkeling on the Body Glove. With our latitudes status, the price was about the same as booking direct. This tour company is first class. It is within walking distance of the pier. They had an elaborate breakfast spread of assorted fruit, pastries, bagels and yogurt, along with water and coffee. We ended up going to a different location than Red Hill, so not sure what happened with this stop. Anyway, the water was ultra clear and offered plenty of colorful fish. We also some dolphins from the ship. This tour also offered a great spread of burgers, cheeseburgers and vegan burgers, with purple potato chips. We did the early morning tour and had some free time so we decided to do the Atlantis Submarine tour directly as it was right at the pier. I would highly recommend this as well, but it is a bit steep in price ($122 pp).

It's a tender-port, but Splendor staff had everything well organized and extremely careful about safety. Kona is right on the beach and the locals have a flea market set up right on the waterfront. Take time to walk up a couple blocks, to get to the real Kona. We enjoyed the "tourist" shops as well as the local artists with their shops.

Kailua Kona is a tender port where the tenders dock in the heart of the community. There are numerous restaurants to choose from with great ocean views.

Great! I REALLY faced my fear of being underwater and took the Submarine ride! SO GLAD I did!! Highly recommend. We went in the afternoon and were able to do a tour of Kona that morning...Painted Church is unbelievable! Bought some fabulous Kona Coffee and saw some GORGEOUS Orchids!!

This is the only port where you use a tender because the ship doesn't have a port it can dock at. But, its also the only one you can really walk to shops, restaurants, etc on your own.

The big island was our favorite. The most beautiful in our opinion. We enjoyed the Kona coffee plantation tour.

I loved Kona. You can even snorkel right off the pier and the fish are plentiful.
