On this island you need to see the east side of the isalnd and go to the whaling town Lahaina it has a Bubba Gump restaraunt that is fun to go to and a lot of historical polaces to see.

Great place to rent a car and see it on your own for a couple of days. The rental company had overnight parking right at the pier. Must see/drive the acquarium, the coast on the Lahaina side, the coast on the Kahului side but not Hana Highway - too windy and narrow, and all the cane and pineapple fields in the interior. The interior roads and little towns were lovely.

We had two days there. Day one was an excursion which was nice. Day two we were going to go to the Ka‘ahumanu Center but I read some recent news about a murder and several violent attacks on customers. The cruise line should look into this and make sure it is safe for passengers to go there on their own.

Whale cruise at Lahaina, Haleakala. Went part way along the road to Hana but lots of rain--hardly worth it.

We went to the beach on our own. We went to the Luau on an excursion. It was very commercial and way too expensive for what we got. The food wasn't good.
