It was nice. We rented a cabana at a local resort for the day. Good access to Waikiki Beach. The next day we just did some sightseeing and shopping.

Loved the bus tour around the city and learnt about the history. Was not happy with the Luau through Germains they were upselling their luau, saying if we didn't upgrade our expensive tickets then we might not get fed. More drink tickets, but we don't drink, and got fed before the ones that bought the upgrade.

We live in Huntington Beach (Surf City) but when we visited the North Shore that really was magnificent surf and many surfers out on the huge waves. The views were spectacular. We also visited the Dole Plantation, my wife loves pineapple. That too was well worth the stop. We arrived in Honolulu on Thanksgiving, only one of three days Pearl Harbor was closed. We managed to squeeze it in before our flight but would have preferred more time

Only there to arrive and depart by plane and ship. Seems a lot like Southern California.
