Not as special as I had hoped. Very crowded around St Marc square. More pleasant on Malo island area....less crowded, with restaurants and cafés.

Buy 24 water taxi ticket for unlimited rides that 7.50 add's up. Must gondola ride , we did it near Realtors bridge not as busy as Piazza San Marco $80 a ride. Nice shopping near Realtors bridge, 10-15 min walk to Piazza San Marco from Realtors must see. Have comfortable supportive walking shoes. The cobblestone streets are uncomfortable otherwise and your feet may get wet. Plus the footing is uneven, transfer from water taxi or boats you don't want to slip.

Always my fave! ❤️ A city like no other! Caught the ferry out to Burano, such a special, clean, friendly island & easily accessible.

Get there a day early and stay a day or two following the cruise. Venice is magical and unique and the perfect city to wander around and explore. Just get lost. It is a photographers' dream!!!

We did the shopping excursion to the Murano glass factory with Laura. It was well organized and a delightful experience. We spent two days in Venice on our own after the cruise and loved every minute of it. Again, there is more to see and do than one can cover in two days.

Venice, explore to your hearts content. Get up early to see ship sailing in the Canal - an awesome sight.
