If you have never been there it’s all what’s it made out to be. Absolutely no need for a excursion water taxis are cheap and numerous

I enjoyed the tour of the Murano Glass Factory. It was fascinating to see how they blow glass. We also went on the gondola ride which was fun.

We did a tour of Venice on our own. Very easy city to access and navigate from the port. No shortage of amazing things to see and do!

Venice is always lovely and one of the best approaches to a berth for any cruise destination. However the inclemancy of the weather caused a lot of problems. Incessant heavy rain with occasional thunder caused cancellation of some tours and those that did go came back looking like drownded rats. We were doing our own thing but didn't in the end because of the weather. These things happen and Venice is still an excellant destination.
