We were told the night before that our Mt. Teide excursion was canceled leaving us scrambling!!! Instead, we ventured out on our own. You can easily walk from the cruise port along the sea front. There is a nice walking path with exercise equipment along the way. You can walk into town, up the side walks to some great views.

Get the tram L1 which is close to downtown (ask where to get it at the Intercambiador) and it goes directly to La Laguna. Interesting old town and very doable on your own.

I like the Canaries. We took a ship excursion that was good, but generally just drove throughout the countryside with a good guide.

Best excursion! We did the visit to the Teide volcano - Canadas del Teide tour. Our tour guide, Carlos was extremely informative and the drive to/from the Teide was beautiful. Carlos was the best guide to date! The bus was clean and comfortable.

we did no excursions and just had a leisurely walk which was nice but the weather was sooooooo cold and windy
