We did not stay in Naples, instead opting to visit the nearby island of Capri. It is a beautiful resort island. However, as this is a jetsetter's paradise, beaware the prices at shops and restaurants are on the high side. We heard from others on-board that there was not much to see in Naples and that it was a bit rough. Most cruisers opted to visit Capri, Pompeii, or Sorrento/Amalfi.

Nothing to do with the ship but the day we were in Naples we came across a large demonstration with armed police in attendance - made you feel uneasy.

Saddly they choose to eliminate this port of call instead of one of the lesser. Many folks were upset about this. They said they needed another day at sea for the crossing.

Great views from above in "upper" Naples; lively action in Spanish town-street bazaars, sidewalk shopping-FABULOUS.

We took the Secrets of Pompeii & it's Wine tour. This was a great trip that's only available on certain RCCL cruises. It was very informative and the Mastroberardino winery was very nice.

The port was okay while a bit confusing with the taxis and excursions. It was easily accessible though. I wanted to walk into the city but the areas near the port was not desirable and a far cry from Barcelona's beautiful port area. I did an excursion through Viator that was excellent and found the area outside of Naples quite beautiful and nice.
