Stopping in Naples for a second time on this cruise - Amalfi and Pompeii. We took a boat from Salerno to the Amalfi coast rather than a bus from Sorrento. I’ve done both and I highly recommend the boat! Seeing the coast from the water was breathtaking, and we didn’t have windy roads (that my stomach doesn’t handle well.). We ate pastries and sorbet and did a little shopping. We then took the boat back and caught the bus to Pompeii. The tour guide can make or break the day, and we had a good one. She was a loud, funny, kind of out there Italian. And she knew her stuff. It was a great day.

Did a short tour of Naples on the way to Pompeii including the marina, gorgeous cathedral and piazza. It’s beautiful there but Naples is crowded! Pompeii was simply amazing and a must-see. The ride from Rome was long but worth it.

WOW! Very busy, industrial port. Took an excursion to Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii, and Herculaneum. All amazing. Buy tickets in advance as the line for tickets to Pompeii was over an hour. To do it justice, you really need at least 2 hours at Pompeii. Herculaneum was a hidden gem and when people say it is better than Pompeii, believe them because it is!

Definitely do an excursion to Capri, Sorrento or Pompeii as the city itself is not great. We had been to all three on a previous trip and opted to walk around Naples this time to get a feel of the place, but it's not the prettiest of places.

Took the excursion to the island of Capri. Decided to do the excursion rather than risking the public ferry. Was a good excursion that took us to Ana Capri and Capri Town and it included lunch but would have liked a little more free time to walk around beautiful Capri.
