We paid for excursion to Pompeii and it was awesome. Our tour guide Valeri was so passionate it was an amazing experience.

We did self guided tour via jet foil from the port Capri and return (order tickets on line and WILLCALL - we did this the night before). Was our 3rd time there. It was easy to do. Lots of great shopping and dining here. Beautiful! Ship's excursions all included Pompei, which is tough to do because of walking issues, before they do to Amalfi Coast or other locations. Be sure to take an excursion of some type, tho, as this is a most beautiful part of Italia! Don't miss it!!

I had met/knew people prior to our time that had lived in Italy and both of them warned us that Naples is not a safe place for anyone other than locals. With that being said, we opted to book a shore excursion to stay out of Naples that day. We went to Pompeii and it was amazing. Our only regret with this particular excursion was that it was only four hours (including the 2 hour commute time to and from) don't miss out on this amazing place!!!

Our tour of Mt. Vesuvius was cancelled due to fires so we went to Sorento instead which was very enjoyable. Then we bussed to Pompei which is a definite must see. We were amazed at the size of Pompei.
