Beware of excursions that include “ factory visits”. They are stores with a videotape. I was very annoyed we had to do two before we could see Pompeii.

Took the tour of Pompeii. It was mind-blowing. Our tour guide was just so knowledgeable and made the tour even more enjoyable. Pompeii is a place you must visit. The ship tour was worth every penny.

Amalfi Coast and Pompeii were amazing. The coastal bus ride with hairpin turns up and down the mountain was incredible. The ride was entertaining as cars and mopeds zipped around the bus with inches to spare on the very narrow roads. Pompeii was very interesting and informative.

The port was good. The excursion was not quite described as one would hope. We were going to book a private boat but waited too long and only unshaded were available. We booked the “jet boat” ride which went to island with salt spring pools. “Jet boat” equals the main ferry service which is a cluster. The island and pools were nice but for money spent we’d do the private boat next time.

Naples is the gateway to the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento, Pompeiii (did it all in one 9-hour excursion 2 years ago). Last year we took ship excursion to Capri and Ana Capri. Given traffic, would recommend ship excursion for all,of the above. This cruise, we booked Viator tour to Casserta Palace - the Versailles of Italy. Definitely worth the visit but never offered by HAL.
