Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All aspects were top quality. Each restaurant was beautifully decorated, kept clean, had great service, and appetizing menus. Dining times and choice of restaurants made things extremely convenient and easily accomodated any schedule. The only negative aspect to be mentioned is that the buffet dining room has traffic problems due to the design of seating and food stations.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was excellent and shows in main theatre were always appropriate for all ages. Entertainment on deck and in lounges had wide variety and all were excellent - were same or better than any past cruises on other cruise lines.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The crew was very friendly and extremely helpful. We ate somewhere different every night and so we did not build a relationship with dining staff like other cruises where you see same staff every night.

Cabin / Stateroom

Had outside cabin. Was a comfortable size, with large closet and well designed bath.

Ports of call

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

Monte Carlo and Monaco was a fun and interesting trip. Just seeing so much wealth in one spot was amazing. There wasn't any one thing in Monte Carlo that stands out that makes it what it is - it is the combination of all that is there contained in a small area - the high end shops of Versaci, Gucci, etc. to the extravagant hotels and Casino, to the numerous Ferraris parked on the streets.
Don't Miss: Monte Carlo

Naples, Italy

Amalfi Coast and Pompeii were amazing. The coastal bus ride with hairpin turns up and down the mountain was incredible. The ride was entertaining as cars and mopeds zipped around the bus with inches to spare on the very narrow roads. Pompeii was very interesting and informative.
Don't Miss: Pompeii

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
Florence is a lively and awesome city. There's so much to see and if you enjoy artwork this is the place to be.
Don't Miss: Michaelangelo's David

Messina, Sicily

Took the highights tour. Church tower with mechanical clock was interesting, but all in all, this port didn't interest us much.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
Rome was overwhelming. So much to see and all of it amazing. The Vatican tour is very worthwhile - allowing you to bypass waiting in very long lines.
Don't Miss: Sistine Chapel

Pros: the Norwegian Jewel is a beautiful ship, fit and finish maintained to perfection, the food was delicious, and the crew was wonderful

Cons: the layout of the Garden Cafe (the buffet dining room) makes traffic flow difficult at peak times.
