We lucked out with a taxi driver named Niccola who drove us around for a couple of hours, showing us the sites and stopping to take pix. I wish I had gotten his card. He was a lot of fun, playing Italian music & being chatty. Our only goal for Naples had been to try the pizza. We did & it was the best ever & within walking distance of port. It was a fun visit.

We did a private excursion of Naples, Pompeii, Positano, and Sorrento. There is so much is to be said about Pompeii, but you have to see it in person. The drive along the Amalfi coast is stunningly gorgeous. If you have time to make it to a town along the coastline, i highly recommend it.

Great port for sightseeing. The ship docks close to everything. Walk from the ship to the Castel Nuovo. Then over to the Galleria Umberto I, a glass domed covered mall. A great place for photos. Then stroll over to the Piazza del Plebiscito to see the Basilica Reale Pontificia San Francesco da Paola. From there walk down to the Rotonda di Via Nazario Sauro and you might see fishermen with their daily catch. And you can see Vesuvius from there.

We visited Pompeii on an excursion purchased on Vacations to Go before the cruise. Good move on our part as everything went great and we enjoyed our tour. We walked around Naples after the tour. Tip: Be a little more cautious in Naples.
