Wasn't sure what to expect from Honfleur itself. There were options to travel from the port to other nearby sights of interest but to overlook this charming town is a mistake. There's a shuttle to the bus station but you could walk it in 30-45mins. The town itself majors on art, from various styles of painting to sculpture and homestyling. Your credit card will take a hit though! Its relaxing just to walk round the narrow streets of the Gothic quarter and window shop in the many galleries, eating places or other shops. There was a Christmas market going on during this visit and what seemed to be a Sat morning farmers market selling local food & drink produce. Not sure why more cruise ships don't visit here but head across the river to Le Harve?

Beautiful, I love Honfleur and it was so good to come back. I just ended up walking all round, finding little places and going to have a look at them, ended up seeing two museums and churches and a park. There are also lots of gift shops and places to eat. I had a crepe in one of the restaurants. (I’m not sure which though, they all have seats outside next to each other).

Again we used the shuttle bus but I do think it would have been quite easy to have walked into the town, a beautiful little town and again we would have spent longer had it not rained.

We arranged a private driver for our party of four and visited Point du Hoc; a Geman Military Cemetary (very interesting, but lacking the 'light' of the American Cemerary, as all crosses are brown granite vs. white in the American Cemetary. Also visited Omaha Beach. What can one say other than you are proud to be free; be an American and an allied country citizen after seeing the sacrifice our troops made to end the Nazi attempt to bring their National Socialism to the world.

You can walk a short distance directly from the ship to the old town. An authentic, original port city, well maintained, lots of water and cute places. We were quite jet lagged so didn’t spend a lot of time there, a nice port of call, a bit touristy but well worth the walk.
