Review summary

This was my first cruise and hopefully it wont be my last, a really enjoyable experience.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
As my companion and myself were supernumerary we were escorted straight to the desk which cut down a lot of waiting.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We used both the self service restaurant and the Olissipo Restaurant. The self service was really good and the food was lovely but my favourite was the Olissipo Restaurant, the service was fabulous and the menu choice was great with plenty to pick from.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
As my friend was the Craft Demonstrater I can say that the ladies who joined us certainly seemed to enjoy themselves so much so that actually approached the Cruise Directer to see if any more craft sessions could be arranged. We attended the lecture on the history of the Asortia which was very interesting.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were fabulous and the guest comedian was really good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The entire staff were very polite and friendly, the room was taken care of very well and the service staff were always on hand to help answer queries very efficiently.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
As this is my first cruise I have nothing to compare it with, I found all areas of the ship very clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was fine for our needs, warm, clean and the beds were very comfortable, If I had one complaint it was the lack of plugs for recharging and use of hair appliances. We only had one plug and it was not easily located, it was on the light switch, which meant anything plugged in had to be laid across the bed to the bedside table, we had two single beds in the room.

Ship tip

Take a thermal cup with you if you like an early morning cup of tea in bed as there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Ports of call

Tilbury (London), England

4 out of 5
Not the most picturesque of ports but we were only there for departure and arrival.

Amsterdam, Netherlands Did not visit port

As our ship was late arriving from Lisbon due to bad weather our cruise was shortened and this port was removed from the cruise

Antwerp, Belgium

5 out of 5
This was a lovely town, we did not go on the tours we explored ourselves as the port was right in the town this was easily done .

Rouen, France

4 out of 5
Again we did not go on any excursions we explored the town ourselves using the shuttle bus, we would have spent longer but it rained

Honfleur, France

5 out of 5
Again we used the shuttle bus but I do think it would have been quite easy to have walked into the town, a beautiful little town and again we would have spent longer had it not rained.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Unfortunately our ship had to make an unexpected detour to Calias during our overnight voyage home due to a passenger being taken ill so the time of our docking was put back two hours, this could not have been helped and hopefully the passenger has made a full recovery, somehow the crew managed to make up some time and we were only an hour late disembarking. We had to be out of our cabins by 7.30 am but there was plenty of seating for all the passengers while we waited.
