Being there during employment protests did not impact on our enjoyment of this city. However arriving late meant that we lost an hour of our Viking tour which was very rushed so when we ventured ashore later it was difficult to enhance the experience by digging deeper into the overview we were given. The inclusive afternoon tour (Hungarian Horsemen) as shown on the in-cabin TV guide never happened as it was 'out of season'. When I enquired I was told it was a mistake.

Loved the panoramic tour! We also did the Hungarian Horsemen which was spectacular! One of our favorite tours!

We did a private taxi tour of the city set up by the Viking Concierge. It was wonderful.

Panoramic included tour was good. The highlight of this port is the evening cruise on the Danube with all of the buildings along the river spotlighted. Truly outstanding for Viking to include that on the cruise. Was a great way to end the cruise and make it memorable.

Having a Hungarian grandmother. This town was so special time. The great market was amazing. You have to try all the foods they serve on the 2nd floor of the market. I brought home plenty of paprika.

We arrived one day early and visited on our own, prior to the cruise. i recommend two days. we stayed in the Castle district (NOT where we departed from) and had to get our own way to the departure hotel.
