not enough time in each port. I enjoyed the tour leaders - the one in Nuremberg was my favorite, gave us a real sense of German people.
GREAT food and Service.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
All was perfunctionary at the departure hotel. Just a table set up. We checked in, our luggage was stored and did all get to the ship before us.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food and the service were amazing! the wait staff went out of their way to make our meals special. and the food was incredible. Servers got to know the passengers, and we got to know them, and had our favorites.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
the hot tub jets never worked.
BUT! the coffee was always available in the lounge, and we enjoyed watching the ship as we traversed each lock.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Local entertainment was brought on board, and all were very good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
As i said above, some wait staff was incredible, all were polite and helpful. All ship personnel were there for US. it was obvious all were trained well.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
considering our travels on a river and through locks, the size of the ship was very good; the layout worked. there is an elevator for all decks but the sky deck. Common areas were always clean and in good order.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
i'm glad we were not in a lower level room; the room was not large enough to really stretch out. That said, the bed was comfortable, as was the chair. We really only slept in the room.
Ship tip
READ up on the places you will stop. Oh, and don't order a sparkling water on your first day. we were charged for it; we only had wine with dinner to keep the bar bill down.
We arrived one day early and visited on our own, prior to the cruise. i recommend two days. we stayed in the Castle district (NOT where we departed from) and had to get our own way to the departure hotel.
We'd have gone out on our own from the start if we had known more about Vienna - the tour bus stopped at the Albertina museum and we walked away...we then went back on our own and toured that museum. We rode a tour bus around the city; wish we had more time there, as it seems there is much to see.
walked all over this city (left the 'tour') - wish here we'd have had another few hours. Window shopped, visited the park where the Danube meets the Inn.
So glad we visited this city - we'd been here a few years ago but never got to the old town area. The castle overlooking the city was nice - wish again that we could have stayed there longer.
