We got off the ship and had a short walk to town. very pretty place. we took the cable car up the rock to see the monkeys. taxis are just outside the ship and offering tours but this is expensive for a family. If able bodied then a walk to the cable car and a walk through town is recommended. shopping is worth it for the no tax. my son lost his slushy to the monkeys so hold everything close.

Buy the booze the duty free shop.in the terminal, its so.much easier. Tequila patron is the cheapest. Great port for walking around. Did the rock and monkeys previous visit.

Third time in Gibraltar. We went to the botanical gardens by the cable car station and found a small wildlife park in it. All the animals were well kept for (the animals were either unwanted pets or animals confiscated by the Gibraltar authorities). We then did some shopping and had lunch after.

Gibraltar is small, so easy to do a tour of the Rock in the morning with time to explore the town in the afternoon.

We bought tickets ahead of time and there was no queue to validate. There was one to get to cable car but only abt 20 min wait. Walk from port to cable car is 38 min. So take shuttle if not willing to walk it.. there is no taxi to just take u to cable car. There is a shuttle but not sure if they charge or not. We wanted to beat the rest of the cruise crowds so we fast walked it. There is no need to buy return cable car. By the time u get to St Michael ‘s Cave u are halfway down. So might as well walk it down at your pace. Otherwise u have to go back up to take cable car down… there is a lot of walking so other cruisers did the bus-Taxi tours. They stop at major Points .. so if tons of walking up and down hills is not your thing .. do one of those. There is not enough time to do all of it so choose what u can. Skywalk was closed as well as mid point of the cable car. Saw plenty of the monkeys

Love Gibraltar. When we docked Jewel was already in. It was a little crowded up the Main Street. Had a nice walk in and back. Great place to get your favourite perfumes and aftershaves at reasonable prices. Weather stayed dry and it wasn't too warm.
