This was one of our favorite ports. We took a "best of Cartagena" tour and enjoyed walking around and seeing all the sites, followed by some shopping, gelato and strolling.

Loved it! No excurison booked. You can walk right off the ship and you're in town. Great shopping, great eating (try the Tapas Bar on the left hand side of the main street).

We visited Cartagena on our own. We saw the Roman theatre then walked around the pedestrian zone for a few hours. We came upon a very nice tapas bar called La UVA Jumillana which we absolutely loved.

Cartagena is on the ,face of it,a quiet little port, but it has a big commercial town,it has a large Maritime Past and houses Roman Ruins, which can be accessed through what appears to be a shop door, just down from the Town Hall. The approach and Town Centre is flat and can be accessed by Wheelchairs and Scooters, with ease.Cartagena is where Hanibull lead his Elephants across the Alps.A quaint place with a nice Marina, one of my favourites.

This was my favourite port stop, lots of Roman history in a modern port, I took a walk up to the amphitheatre and the castle. The streets are narrow and hilly.
