Amazing port. It is tendered so the ship is anchored away from the actual port. Great fun in light seas. The port itself is idyllic with several lovely shops.

Nice - Easy to reach Monte Carlo by the train which is located in the port, just a short 6 or 7 minute walk from the tender. Nice was another short train ride, maybe 10 minutes or so towards the west. Monte Carlo was incredible.

You will be tendered to the Town area, they can accommodate Wheelchair and Scooters, however, when shoreside the streets are narrow and uneven,it is also very hilly, off the main Street. The water is incredibly clear,.A pretty port ,nice to have a coffee or whatever,.Most visitors will visit Nice or other places on the Southern France Coast

Beautiful port. Limited on activity in Villefranche itself but 5 minutes by train in either direction takes you to Monaco or Nice - both excellent places to visit

Villefranche is an adorable place and there is not a need to do anything but get off the ship...or visit the beach, however we went into Eze which is absoultley the roof of the Med. the crowd off the ship was a pain though. We actually got off the ship as early as possible. Took a taxi (super pricy at $50) to Eze and enjoyed it without the crowds. On our way out the ships excursion showed up and they were so packed I can't imagine they enjoyed the gardens much. Then, to leave Eze, we took the very cheap and easy public bus. There is a very helpful tourism office literally at the bus stop to make sure you get on the right bus or train back to the ship. My son and husband split from myself and daughter to go to Monte Carlo and drove a Ferrari . I think it was the highlight of his life.

Stunning little place, wish we'd have explored here more rather than gone into Nice really, although Nice is pretty beautiful too. Piece of advice; the hop on hop off open top bus to Nice has deleted stop number 2, but they don't tell you this! We almost missed the ship as we ended up waiting for an hour for the bus to come and ended up having to get a last minute taxi!

LOVED Villefranche! We took the train to Monte Carlo, gawked like tourists, played some slots and roulette, and then returned to Villefranche to shop and eat. A very picturesque little town.
