It was sunny and hot. It,s worth it to take the shuttle from the ship. Walked in Le Panier. Did « Le Petit train » 🚂 that goes up Notre-Dame de la Garde. It was worth it but don’t sit in the back of the train like I did...kind of scarry! After I walked around the old port, bought soaps, had an ice-cream .

Loved this port - took the shuttle to the city and explored on our own. Beautiful city. Lots to see.

Did ship excursion to Marseille where we visited the Longchamp Palace (stunning) and the Notre Dame cathedral (120 steps to reach top where cathedral is. Please note if you struggle with stairs). We were then given free time around old port.

Not my favorite. The port area is seedy. Took an excursion to Aix en Provence and we liked that venue.

Nice town, but the "Free" shuttle is $15. (Seriously!) We walked and took a $1 city bus!

A long, not scenic walk from port to city center so we opted to take the shuttle bus. Most of the noted sights are around the rectangular harbor area. We wanted to walk to the Notre Dame cathedral but it was too far uphill.
