The port area and what's around aren't that great. It's a long walk to the station, if you want to head to Glasgow. So you end up being tempted into tours. There are better ports on a cruise around the UK.

We took the excursion to explore the lochs and highlands. It was very beautiful - the weather was very beautiful. It was a very leisurely day on a bus. Our guide was fantastic - he sang and played his fiddle.

Glasgow was too far from port. The people of Greenock were most welcoming. We did a few small van tour with volunteers. The only cost was a tip which we did generously because the tour was so good.

We booked a non-Princess excursion, and enjoyed seeing Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and Stirling Castle. We covered a great distance and got a great flavour of the area.
