Difficult to 'get to'. The train ride was enough - there was no need to take have a bus ride up and down the mountain side.

Tour operator was Tour Skye. They pick you up at the Port. It was really fun. Our driver was a true Scotsman, kilt and all. He educated and entertained us. If you get James McGregor, you will be in for a great tour. Book online.

Did a shore excursion to Edinburgh. Quite a long day, but worth getting to see the Scottish countryside along the way. The coach dropped us off at a central location, & we had 4.5 hours to explore Edinburgh. The weather was fantastic, as we meandered up the Royal Mile, a photo opportunity at every corner. We decided to visit from this port, rather than Sth Queensferry, so my partner could enjoy St. Andrew's on that shore day. A decision well made, as we were to discover down the track...

They have a Tesco store right outside the port gates that has everything you could want or need. Convenient.

Take the train to Ediburgh. It's an easy walk to the train station.

My error we missed our van with Timberbush Tours. They went crazy out of their way to help us! We were so impressed with them that even tho we didn't get to take the tour, they are an upstanding customer oriented company and I would highly recommend them.

Had a delightful time here, though we spent some of the time driving back to the Sterling castle that we missed time on the other port. Heard from others that we should have done the cliffs instead.
