I think a remake of trips to drop the hermitage days to include the at the hermitage night would be so much better for all guests.

Join a tour. Peterhof was very grand! The ship provides a folkloric show on the 2nd day.

Bring your walking shoes and patience. Went to Catherines palace, the Hermitage, Peterhof and the Church on the spilled blood along with a thousand other people. These sites do not have air conditioning or many public toilets so you'll stand in lines for long periods of time. Worth the effort so just remember you're on vacation.
