Booked a tour with Alla Tours what an awesome experience. 14 people in a nice van and our guide Alex was amazing. we took the subway, then checked out the Hermitage museum, Church of the Blood Savior, On the way to Catherine's Palace we had a bag lunch which was actually awesome sandwich, apple, muffin, juice and a Russian beer. then we visited Catherine Palace, followed by Peterhof lower fountain park and upper Gardens . I wished we had more time here as this place was astounding and Alla made everything so wonderful. FYI it did take an hour to get through immigration which can be frustrating so be patient

Russian visas are expensive and take a real effort to acquire--highly recommend a packaged tour.

The ship spent two days here & we had an 8 hour tour each day. There was a different guide each day, they were very informative & spoke perfect English. The weather was sunny & cold which did nothing to take away from this fantastic two days. This was a Holland America tour which was on the expensive side, but was well worth it.

Amazing place. We went with a ship organised 2 day tour, although it can be done cheaper through independent companies. The guides knowledge was encyclopedic. The main down side was the sheer numbers of tourists visiting places such as the Hermitage, think Northern Line tube during rush hour.

We did a two day private tour - absolutely recommend taking the time to research tours....the private tour was definitely worth it - got in to all the sites quicker - no waiting in lines, no buses - heaven!

Very nice tour but wears you out there is so much to see! Had a great experience with Shore Excursions group which had a much smaller group and Irina was an awesome tour guide! No issues at all with them providing the visa either.

We took a 2 day excursion with Guide Guru for $280. They did a fine job and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only problem we were rushed through the Hermitage.
