Review summary
We really enjoyed this itinerary and met some wonderful people. The small ship was great but with that goes not as much activity. The weather wasn't great so therefore no outside activities. Some days were really rough and quite a few people felt sick so not sure if it was because of the size of the ship.
Have a really nice time'1
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The port of Dover is very small compared to any other port we have been at. As well with the ship being only 650 passengers things went very smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The ships main dining room was excellent and the Buffet as well. We don't pay for the specialty restaurants as we don't feel the need to.
Wine package - there were about 3 kinds of wine available in the 'silver package" so you are basically forces to pay extra for the "gold package". On a 14 day cruise you would hope that there would be enough so people could get wine in this category. They ran out of all the popular wines as well as champagne. Lots of not happy people.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
It was an older crowd and full itinerary so some times it seemed like there wasn't much going on. Very much enjoyed the free Zumba classes. Yoga was over $13 and too early on sea days so very low attendance, The Kiel Canal day it was actually a sea day as we couldn't get off the ship and there seemed like not much to do
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Some was excellent. The Russian Folklore Dancers were the highlight.
Children's Programs
No kids on board so no kids club
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The dining room staff was excellent,. Our steward could have cleaned our room better as there was dust everywhere and obviously not cleaned well between cruises.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Was small and easy to get around
Cabin / Stateroom

It was a mini suite at the front of the ship. The balcony was quite large and the room was a nice size. The weather wasn't great so we spent some time inside and not as much on the balcony.
We had an issue with our patio door and they wanted to "scotch tape" it shut but we didn't feel that was acceptable. As well it didn't lock with wasn't great. Sounds like others were like that as well. Should have been fixed when they were in dry dock a few months ago.
Unfortunately we weren't docked in town so it was impossible to walk to town and we were charged $8 per person per trip for a shuttle town. If we could have bought a citybus ticket we would have but we didn't have any change in the currency.
Port to town was walkable but it is quite a hike. The city was quite dirty ( Sunday morning) with the streets not cleaned from the night before. We pre ordered tickets for the Ann Frank house then did a walking tour
You just completed a cruise that I dream of completing someday. Weather, rough seas, and lack of topside activities do limit some cruise pleasures. Hope your next cruise is better all around.
