Pretty exhausting. Bought castle tix in advance online. It was hard to figure out how to get to it. Eventually paid £14 pp senior fare HOHO bus that took us there. Still a lot of climbing. Castle is mostly military, no furniture or "homey" atmosphere.

A cold, wet day. I enjoyed High Tea in a quaint cafè in Sth Queensferry, snuggled next to a fire, & some local craft shopping. My partner did a shore excursion to St. Andrew's. I don't think anything would have ruined this excursion for him! His bucketlist is now another milestone closer to completion. We were both pleased that we had a lovely day, in completely different ways.
