We had a tour around the city and took the tram ride up the mountain which offered amazing views.

The only downside was not enough time to explore in Bergen. Funicular railway is a must but best to prebook tickets online and get there early. The views from the top was spectacular and the place is excellent for exploring so take drinks with you.

Do not take the Hop on Hop Off Bus! They do not have enough busses to take the thousands of passengers who arrive on cruise ships! People were stranded at stops along the way. The famous Fish Market is closed in bad weather, which we encountered. Nothing much to see there.

The ship docks near the center of the city. You can walk to the old town area and to the Funicular which takes you up above the town to a very nice park area.

We really enjoyed Bergen, Norway as the town was what we envisioned about Norway. Unfortunatey, we did book an excursion through NCL - Hardanger Ford that even with out $150 per port discount, was rather expensive and not worth the significant amount of bus time that it took. I would've preferred to just stay in the town of Bergen and walk around.

I went on a walking tour of the old part of town Brygen which is fun, then up the funicular railway. Only problem that day was we were a little behind schedule and because of the amount of people there we had to go back down almost straight away. However as at that point it was chucking it down with heavy rain, it was a relief to get back to the lower level where it was warm and Sunny to dry off!
