Of course the Acropolis is the must see, along with the new Acropolis Museum. Both are easy to get to using the Athens metro system.

The Acropolis was somewhat disappointing after Ephesus. Athens traffic is a nightmare and our tour bus driver was late picking us up on two different occasions. A real no-no for enjoyable tours.

Due to political unrest in Athens, we did not stop here and were rerouted to Malta, which was also a great stop! Don't miss the Blue Grotto.

The Acropolis is incredible. Just a warning that it is a fairly strenuous walk with many slippery large rocks, but definitely worth the time and expense. The Plaka was a lot of fun as well.
