Athens is a big dirty city with terrible traffic issues. Difficult to actually see much if you have limited time. Next time I’ll stay on the ship

Take a taxi to the Acropolis there is a train trolleys the goes to all the area around the acroplpois for 10 euros a price you get on and off as you please. Taxi ride to Acropolis from the port ranges from 20-30 euros one way depending on time of day. There are also public busses the stop at the port that will take you to Acropolis.

We chose to go the hop-on/hop-off bus route and ended up spending a lot of time in the New Acropolis Museum. Well worth queuing for the tickets €5

The Acropolis. Just absolutely amazing! It’s a bit crowded with tourists, so if you go be prepared for that. You can get good photos if you wait until the folks move to the next spot. The museum is also incredible. Loved seeing the pieces they have inside. I still pinch myself when I think I got to see it all on a windy and chilly day in 2017!

Athens was a great experience for us. We started exploring the city by joining Athens Free Walking Tour.. what a great start of our day! After the tour we walked Acropolis on our own (did a self-guided tour by Rick Steves). Returned to the port by taking a metro from downtown Athens (a ticket costs 1.40 euros per person). It was quick and easy.

Hot, crowded and big. Main attraction here was the Acropolis, which was very overcrowded. The temp was 96 deg and not a breeze, which made the walking very difficult. Stock up with lots of water as it goes quickly.
