The taxis and public transit went on strike the day we got there. Went with the ship's tour. Very dirty city. Locals were very verbal about their economic conditions and their government corruptness.

cab drivers were awful. Kept trying to get us to spend more and when we wouldn't they started switching cabs and drivers on us.

We had a local guide come meet us...it was nice as there were 4 of us and we just fit. Less hassles than a bus

Great tour that we booked from home, with lots of shopping. Loved it! The second visit to Athens we met up with relatives in Greece for coffee before my sister and I went on a shopping spree.
