Long drive to San Gimignano. Would've liked a bit longer here as there were a few places of interest we didn't really have time to look at. After that, a wine tasting at Tenuta Torciano: a lot of fun, some great hosts. Finally, free time in Pisa to get up close to its tower. Again, more time would've been nice as it would have given the chance to get into some of the nearby buildings. People posing for photos were entertaining; salespeople constantly pestering were decidedly less so. A very good trip overall, though.

Very crowded, hard to really see anything. Excursion did not include entry to anything but the leaning tower of Pisa which was wow! Great leather items and yummy Italian food for lunch.

Not for us this town is just like any town in any city. It was very congested at the point where we were dropped off. Another cruise ship was in and people not knowing which bus was which. carnage I would say no queuing just a free for all. Not going back in a hurry.

The bus ride to Florence (Florence on your own - paid excursion) is long (90 minutes) but the tour guide was excellent. We were told later by other travelers that it's easy to use the free shuttle from the port to the train station and then zip to Florence on your own schedule by train. Pisa (included excursion on the second day in port) was excellent. 45 minute bus ride, excellent tour guide, just enough time there to see everything before going back to the ship.
