The GENOVA ITALY Port Is MSC's HOME PORT And It Is AWESOME!!
by caspertr30
They had a train strike on this day so it was not as exciting as we originally thought. We did find an amazing local restaurant and ate the best walnut pesto meal

Worst city in Italy! Unfriendly people & ugly streets. My second experience here but I don’t like it at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took a open top city bus tour. I really should have done the hop on hop off bus tour. The city bus tour person made it sound similar, but we quickly went round the city and didn’t slow down to see much. We were dropped off downtown and I went to the aquarium. The aquarium was fantastic and well maintained. I enjoyed that part very much. I then wandered around and tried to see a church, but they were closing for lunch. Took the bus back to port.

The port itself is not the most beautiful but we spent 3 nights in Genoa and loved our time here exploring the small streets of the old town. We got the train to Saint Margarita one day and walked to Portofino - a particular highlight!! (But not 30 mins as advised!! ;-) The aquarium was also fantastic! Enjoy the Focaccia and Pesto!!

We chose the Milan & Last Supper excursion. It's a good hump of a bus ride, and our guide was not very interesting. Milan was just okay (I'm not into fashion so the shopping didn't interest me) but the Last Supper viewing made the whole trip worth it.
