We had 1 1/2 days to see some high points of Rome before boarding ship; not sure how you could do so in one day from ship with hour trip each way, but I guess it's done.

Opted for a city tour but spent most of the time in traffic. Audio headset didn't work well. Should have spent more time at Colisseum.

You can't do it all. Pick what you want to see. It's a beautiful place and you want to take in as much as possible. We tried to see as much as possible and at the end of the day I just felt rushed and unsatisfied, I will have to return some day.
