We started and ended here, then stayed 2 more days. The port is quite a distance from the airport and from downtown Rome. Expect to pay a lot for a taxi or other transportation. There is much to see and do in Rome. We purchased a 2-day Hop-On/Off ticket in addition to seeing the Colosseum and the Vatican, a must do experience.

I was so excited to be in Italy and amazed at the ship and while being transported to it I was taken aback by it all. We didn't do an excursion.

Ultimate Vatican tour. We saw the exterior of the Colosseum and the guide had copious amounts of history on it. Same with the Vatican. Lunch at Piccola Toscana was totally amazing. Very attentive staff, tasty 4-course meal, wonderful wine and coffee!!!! So very much to see - I know I'll visit Rome again and take a full day at Vatican City and see other sights in Rome. This was a great way to get a 'taste' of Rome, knowing what to come back for!

The port was very far from Rome? Would have liked to have gotten to Rome on my own however that was not possible. Did not realize when planning excursions the distance.

Just one day is not enough to explore the rich history and amazing sights of this city. Be warned, it is very very busy

Did the Ultimate Rome tour. Again, long and hard but would not have missed it. Very fast-paced and not nearly enough time to see all there is to see. Bathroom facilities are few and far between in Italy.
