A: We booked it through celebrity, as first time cruisers we thought we would leave it to the experts, and then it is their responsibility to get us there. However, we are trying to get our outbound flight changes as they have booked us a two stop flight... Dublin to Frankfurt to Rome…….. and the connecting flight would have been missed on 5 occasions in the last two weeks. ……we are now living on our nerves 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️See More

A: We always fly from Dublin the day of the cruise. We always book fly/cruise. So if there's any delays, it's up to the cruise company to sort it out. We came back from a cruise in May of this year and our sail away party never happened because flights... were late coming in but still the ship could not leave until everyone was checked in and on board. That's the great thing about booking fly/cruise!See More

A: You don't really have many options for decent price, duration and arrival time. Aer Lingus has a nonstop, that could work. it arrives @1025, with luggage and shuttle or taxi to port would put you at the port by roughly 1. However, I don't see a goo... d fallback should it be delayed. More options to fly in day before in afternoon and evening.See More

A: Would never fly in the same day. Even more so now when flights are being cancelled.

Answered by WhippetMum on June 20, 2022

A: That is cutting it close. We may go through Dublin, but will go at least a day or two early.

A: There are vans outside the port that will take you to the airport. They charge by the person so be sure you ask before you get in the van. They took us in a van going to the airport and dropped off a family and then we went to our hotel in Rome.

A: Besides a CL transfer. Viator and other travel sites offer transfers which may be best trade off for cost/convenience. next would be train but there isn't a direct route. https://www.rome-airport.info/to-cruise-port-civitavecchia.html. lastly for c... onvenience a taxi will run 120 to 150 euros.See More

A: I bought the at home testing kits that you complete via a video call with a doctor using your phone. You can buy them through Royal Caribbean and take them with you to Italy.

A: Do you need PCR or antigen to board a cruise ship?

Answered by JanKat on May 5, 2022

A: check out the omnia card with the Rome pass, it includes so many attractions and almost all transportation

Answered by dkreece on March 14, 2022

A: When I did Rome on my first cruise 10 years ago, I booked us tickets on the Hop On/Hop Off bus. It goes around and stops at each site you want to visit. You can get off and visit as long as you want and then catch the next one that comes along to get... to your next site. If I remember correctly, Termini Station is at/near stop #1 and la Fontana di Trevi is last on the route. I also would highly recommend checking online for entry tickets to the sites you want to go to that require them (e.g. The Colosseo) to avoid having to stand in ridiculously long lines for ticket booths. You'll be able to go right to the entrance.See More

A: There are trams throughout the city. You can buy 1 day passes and multiple day passes. The tram passed out hotel and took us to the colosseum and near the Vatican and Castel Sant Angelo.

Answered by loralor on March 14, 2022

A: TripAdvisor… use the website instead of the App… I would use the skip the line tours…we just sectioned out the city and visited each the 3 days we were there.

Answered by katcha on March 14, 2022

A: Don't forget to check out Viator and Groupon. Rome has great public transportation try rome.net and romesite.com for more info.

Answered by dkantouth on March 14, 2022

A: Consider booking tickets for the Colosseum direct (https://www.coopculture.it/it/#55)... this will save you money and still give you a great tour experience. If you book a tour of the necropolis under the Vatican (http://www.scavi.va/content/scavi/en... /ufficio-scavi.html), you will come up at the entrance to the Vatican, bypassing long lines. We took a taxi to the Spanish Steps, then started walking south, stopping at Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. We were able to walk at our own pace, stopping where we wanted.See More
